Fan Controller

Hey! 

 

I have a NZXT H440 case, at the moment all of my 4 Corsair SP 120 performance fans are hooked on to the fan hub on the back of the motherboard tray. This is powered straight from the PSU therefore giving no control over my fans....they run at max all the time! which is very noise, is there anything I could use to allow me to power them and control them from my PC ideally ?

you should be able to use software. if the fanhub is plugged into the mobo using a molex cable iirc

If its not in BIOS then its because you are not using a 4-pin thingy! :3 (4-pin to motherboard!)

You can't connect molex to mobo. Just FYI.

As for problem itself. Your mobo has several connectors and Asus has very good control options over them. If hub has possibility to use mobo as controller, do that. Otherwise connect all fans directly to mobo and then use either BIOS or FanXpert to control them. You can control both 3pin and PWM. You just need to set power option for DC or PWM.

Not anymore no, long ago molex on the motherboard actually was a thing, they were for supplying extra power to GPU's or whatever. :P

You could get splitters and extenders. Another option is to get hardware based controller or use voltage regulators or low-noise adapters. There's also mod for molex connector where you remove cables to make connector supply only 7V or 5V.

I can remember my dad bringing home a zip drive which I was so enthusiastic over as it was such an upgrade over the floppy disk.

Have you sorted this out yet or not? Might be worth your while to get a stand alone fan controller if there is no PWM input for that fan hub.
