Harsh crackling in headphones on starting applications.

When I start some games my headphones get a harsh crackling noise. This started happening after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I'm using the latest drivers.

First off, go read the Windows 10 PSA.

 

Second of all, which Audio Driver Version are you using?

Are you using an external amp? If not, try and external amp.

Third, which headphones? Are they USB?
