NASA just opened the Project Apollo Archive on flickr. 

Photos sorted by the order they were on the roll of film.

 

 

This image is an amazing 4400*4600 resolution

My only question is, where are all the secret conspiracy confirmations?

 

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Wow.. That's pretty awesome. I know I'm going to spend hours going through these! Too bad our Space program isn't as amazing as it once was. Maybe again one day...

So you take a photo 640x640, open in Microsoft Picture Manager --> Edit Pictures --> Resize --> 1250% ---> 8k image.

 

Also, remove your finger from the lens, kthxbye.

The last president who gave a huge push for the space program ended up getting shot. So... unlikely.

I'd say that was irrelevant to why he was shot....

I know how irrelevant it is, but once that happened, the space program kind of just moved on its own momentum for the next while. No president but Kennedy was so adamant about space exploration.

I agree with that. Maybe the one big push was because we wanted to be the first to technically land on the moon and beat the Russsians.

The reason our space program is lacking is all about money. When Kennedy fired up this mission to land on the moon it was easily available due to the economic boom our country was experiencing at the time due to high taxes in the 50's and 60's. The Cold War is probably what really made it possible though. A win against Russia to prove we could further than they could. Fast forward to the fall of communism and the downturn that started in the 70's and 80's which resulted in taxes being slashed again and again on top of people generally against the idea of more government spending for a program they no longer have a passion for; we're left in our current position. What we really need is the people to be interested in space exploration again to the point where they don't mind paying a little more in taxes to make an incredible journey again. Hopefully the private industry though is able to pick up the slack of the government and get us back out there.

Swamp Gas. I did also stumble across others that were a little off. I thought you weren't able to see stars on the moon yet they took a picture of one or it was something. 

The reason why you can't see stars in shots of the moon(where space is in view) is because the exposure has to be so low. The moon isn't some magical thing that takes stars out of view. The astronauts could see stars I'm sure, but the moon would be too bright in the photos.

Oh. I am surprised though when I looked up the dates of when the picture were taken, 1971 and before that as well. I always love finding the all white or all black pictures and changing the levels in photo shop hoping to find something

So you take a photo 640x640, open in Microsoft Picture Manager --> Edit Pictures --> Resize --> 1250% ---> 8k image.

The images aren't digital, they were scanned from a analog format.

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

No one is going to find any image of aliens in the album lol. If any was seen NASA has already covered it up. What most conspiracy theorist do is analyze the photo beyond what it is. Like check if the image has been tampered with photoshop, adjust contrast, saturation, color levels and what not to find anything odd. They don't just swipe through photos and be like "oh, no aliens, next!" lol. And seeing as there is over 10k photos... it's going to be a while before any conspiracy theorist article pops up from this.
