I5 6600K vs I5 6500?

Do I need the overclockabillity? I play games at ultra such as farcry 4 and dying light. I also do photoshop and gameplay video editing on sony vegas. But do I really need that overclocking power?

Buying gaming pc on janurary 2017!

Depending on how much Photoshop and video editing you do, I think a 6700K or 5820K may be more appealing to you.

if you see the video editing as an important task of your machine, you're better off with the 5820k, but not by as much as some people make it out to be..

 

skylake cores are quite beefy...

You can overclock the 6400 and the 6500. Just use the BCLK, which is enabled on Skylake. The 6600K is just unlocked multiplier.
