Need advice for new PC

Hi guys,

Im new to these forums so, i hope i posted this in the right place.

Im planing on building a new pc, this would be my first complete build.

I have already upgraded pcs in the past.

My current pc is getting really old, im lagging in pretty much all my games even after clean install of W10.

I have a friend that would like to buy my pc and use it as a simple HTPC.

My budget is about 850$ CAD with taxes and shipping. ( I could go over a little)

This PC will be used mostly for playing League of Legends, Minecraft, Trove and Google Chrome.

Here is what I got so far

NOTE: Prices do not contain taxes, taxes in my province are about 15% (about 833$)

I will change the case to something that has dvd bay around that same price point.
I do not plan on overclocking.

So please, tell me if its good, bad, horrible, a disgrace, etc
or if its way over kill for a 1080P 60Hz Monitor.

PS: I already own a keyboard and mouse, but if I have extra budget, i will put that money on a back light keyboard.

Thanks in advance

For Minecraft you absolutely want an Intel processor.  Minecraft is currently two very demanding threads and AMD FX does not handle intensive threads well.

I would probably do this given one of your listed games are that demanding, although depending on what shaders, resource packs, you add to Minecraft you bring almost any graphics card to its knees.  You could not get the cooler and use the stock one from Intel to put yourself under your budget, although you might find the Intel one a bit noisy at times.

because your type of use doesn't require much graphics power your decision wasn't that bad on the video card, although i would recommend a card which doesn't need a 6 or 8 pin PSU connector, so that u can use a cheaper PSU with less power (400 should be enough). I played minecraft and also LOL on a GT640 for a while, which costs today about 40€ :D but you haven't to go that low.

I would also go with a bit cheaper RAM (1x 8GB is often cheaper than 2x 4GB) and with the money left you should pick up a better CPU, I recommend a FX-8350 because (you can overclock them easily and) it's more "bang for the buck", and a SSD. a SSD makes a system feel much faster. 64 or 128 GB is definitely enough.

for the OS you can also grab a windows 7 64-bit and upgrade it for free to windows 10, so you safe about 30-50 bucks, but you have to keep in mind that you must install ALL the windows updates (about 200).

btw your case has 1 5.25" bay for the DVD drive.

I hope I helped you and my english wasn't that bad :D
