4 Monitors with 2x 980 SLI

Go to solution Solved by DeathBlade,

Yes.

You need to get a card that has the display options that you need though, as you can only output video from the primary card while SLI is enabled.

Yes, I am aware only the master card could have connections, thank you :)

Do you even reach 60FPS at Very High on any game with theese resolutions?

Some games, I bought the screens after the card, I was never expecting to run these resolutions or number of screens but working from home changed that quickly and I find that I am starting to get more lag spikes in some games that were not there before when I just used 1080p, and I fully expected that I would need to consider a SLI setup after I got the screens.

Yes, you can have them all connected. They will all have to be connected to the top card with SLI enabled, though.

Also aren't U2414H 1080p? (U2515H are the 1440p models)

I may have the model number wrong on that, I know they are 1440p however :P

Yes, with nVidia GPU's you are able to form a 3 + 1 display -- which is exactly what you are doing (where the single 1080p screen is an auxiliary).

The only requirement is, if you want SLI to be enabled, is to hook up all four monitors to the GTX 980 that will function as the primary card.

nVidia has all the "How-To's"

  • GTX 980 > 2-way SLI > 2D Surround > Landscape
  • Shows you how to connect all the ports

So, While everyone is being helpful, would I need to use surround for the 3 at all times or can I still use them as 3 screens as I do now? I really don't want to be in surround  all the time, but I would like it once in awhile. lol

Hello,

I have been looking all over the internet and I keep coming up with conflicting information, I am just look to see if I SLI would I still be able to access my 4 screen. At the moment I am using a 3x1 setup (3 Dell u2414h 1440p via display ports and 1x 1080p asus screen via HDMI. I am/will be using the EVGA GTX 980's SC ACX 2.0 card.

Input would be appreciated :D

EDIT: Seems like nVidia Surround is a bit more flexible now.
