Can my 50hz TV stream 60fps video?

Hedge

About to buy a new 50" TV for my room so I can watch youtube and twitch from the comfort of my sofa. The TV states it has a 50hz motion rate which I assume is the refresh rate.

Will this be able to run 60fps video?

Yes, but it will only play at 50 fps rather than 60.

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

LG over some bush any day lol. Never even heard of bush.

Back in the day Bush were a brand doing things like radios and cassette players in Britian, a very famous name here

however, now its just a name used by Argos to sell cheap shit tvs/hifis branded "bush" to cash in on peoples nostalgia

I've seen 40Hz and 30Hz notebooks too. It's supposed to save battery life.  ;)

Most TVs accept 60p video. It generally should not be a problem. It'd likely drop a frame every 6 frames to sync, however.

MCI = Motion Clarity Index

That's LG terminology for their numbers that are supposed to improve motion resolution (compounded number based on motion-interpolated frame rate and backlight scanning).

High five! I have a triple wide (but only at work). I just run TVs and ultrabooks at home.
