i5-4460 and i5-4690k

Between i5-4460 and i5-4690k, which is worth??

4690k is better then 4460 but it's also expensive than 4460 almost $50 dollars...

Thanks ! ! !

Ya. My English isn't very good. I'm not really good in talking English but I'm learning...You making fun with my English, so WHAT??? You get what?? You can just correct the people and this is better than laugh at the people...

if you're not overclocking, then the 4460 is enough.

gaming performance between the two isn't that big of a difference... they're almost the same

the 4690K you have to overclock to justify the price, which costs even more money (anywhere from an extra $20-$150 for a cooler, and the extra cost of a Z97 motherboard over H81 or B85).

4460 doesn't have that "problem"

The 4690K is obbiously a better CPU, but if youre gaming performance on a stock speed 4690K and a 4460 is almost equal. You need to overclock the 4690K to get any real performance increase in games, but it still wont be very significant, 1 advantage the 4690K has is the ability to overclock and futureproof it a little bit :)

do you mean case as in case(computer frame/shell), or case as in situation.

If it's the frame, it really doesn't matter.

If it's the situation, It's more because you can really, if you've got the cooling, the motherboard, and chip, there's very little reason not to. But, that cooling, motherboard, and chip all come at a premium that you wouldn't need to pay otherwise. And that premium isn't all that justifiable.

When you need more CPU power. Say, you are rendering a video, helping in distributed computing, playing a super demanding game (like arma 3). In those cenarios, OC can help you get more performance.

You never really "need" to overclock. Generally people who overclock do it because they find it enjoyable. There's some performance to be gained from it, but usually not enough to stave off an upgrade when you really need one.

If you're not someone who wants to be able to overclock, I'd recommend the i5-4460 and a cheaper H97 motherboard.

I can provide before and after 3D Mark benchmarks of before and after overclocking my 4690K, 10fps on average. In the physics test that's going from high teens to low 30fps so I got an additional few fps in the CPU test in Firestike. Overclocking does reap benefits in gaming.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

4690K if you want to play with the clockspeed

4460 if you just want to get something and use it out of the box

Stock - they are identical in games - even after OC, if the game does not need the extra CPU power the 4690K won't notice a difference if the GPU is the liming factor

Overclocking is good because its helps to future-proof

Look how people are happy on their 2500k or 2600k processors just because they can overclock those to 4.5 GHz

most Sandy chips get 5GHz xD

If you have the ability to keep it cool and have a chip willing to overclock, overclocking is great. I also think all CPUs should have a aftermarket cooler installed if they're used for gaming regardless of overclocking. The stock coolers work, but a good aftermarket cooler work better.
