Steam trouble

Hey so i opened up steam and went into Euro truck simulator 2 but then about 1.5 inches went black on both sides of the screen and i tryed other games it keeps happening how do i fix this? (the screen its self is fine it just happenes when i try to play a game on steam

depends on the game

if a game is meant to be played in a certain aspect ratio, you will see the black bars.try changing the aspect ratio of the game

depends on the game

game video settings. some games allow it, some dont. but it depends on 2 factors

what game?

resolution of your monitor?

oka if you're on windows

right click the desktop and click screen resolution. it should bring up a menu where you can see your monitor above and the resolution below. what is the resolution?

Try running game on windowed mode. And then try to match in game resolution to your desktops resolution.
