6600k Temp for Overclocking

Hey guys,

I have a 6600k that I wanted to overclock. I have a cyrorig h5 ultimate as my cooler in a Define S. With 2 140mm Intakes in the front 1 140mm intake on the bottom and 1 140mm Exhaust. My idle temperatures are sitting at around 38-41. I then loaded up heroes of the storms and it went into the low 50's should this be cooler than that and am I safe to overclock?

Thanks!

I havent touched the new 6th gen cpus but based on there previous cpu they can go all the way to 85-90c with no isses. Do a actually cpu stress test with Aida64.

You should be good for a minor OC. For reference my 6700K on a full custom loop idles at 20c so yeah, your idle temp is a little high but the consensus is 80c as a safe maximum so you've got some head room to play with.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

I would personally just increase clock to the max you can without test failure... (increase voltage is no fun)
