Fan connector and no. Just plug your fans into the motherboard but PLEASE put some tape over the bare wires.

That is either a 3 or 4 pin connector and yes you need it if you plan on using it but if you have other fan splitters/hubs you won't need it. Just make sure to wrap the wires with electrical tape to prevent shorting of your components or fire.

gonna assume that is fractal r4 or r5 case.  That's a fan connector for the front panel sata powered fan controller.  Do you need it?  not really.. but it's useful if you have a ton of fans on your case.

Yeah it's an R5. I only have the 2 stock fans + the 2 fans that came with my water cooler.

well if that's the case I would use the other two connectors for the stock fans so you can control that using the front panel switch.. and I assume you water cooling the CPU so use the CPU fan header for the fans on the water cooler.  You should be in good shape.
