760t mod help

Dimetime35c

So I've seen a lot of 760t water cooling mods that remove the top drive bays the ones you'd put a DVD drive in. When I look at my case I can't for the life of me figure out how the damn thing comes off??? It looks very rivited in and no way of removing without breaking the case to get it out. Am I just missing some obvious screws somewhere or is the only way to remove the thing to cute it outta the case???

It could be screws at the front. Can you take the front of the case off?

The front does come off yes, but the cage itself looks very rivited in place. The entire cage looks like it was one piece. I have no problem breaking the case to get the cage out but would rather not. Don't feel like ruining the look of the case.

I understand how you feel. Why not try and contact Corsair.

It's riveted in place so you need to take a 1/8" drill bit to drill out the rivets, taking off the front panel will give you access to some rivets on  the front also.

I had the same issue with mine. Turns out after removing the front panel you can squeeze the top and bottom of the cover to remove it rather than the side like with the other two covers.

The SSD mounts will have to be taken off which is rather easy as they snap into place to take the cover off fully as the latches are hidden behind it. As for the cage, I can't really offer much help as I haven't attempted to remove it.

The cage is taken off from the bottom for the main one

for the top you have to remove the rivets

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Is there any guides that show you which rivets to remove? I'm worried I'll drill out the wrong ones and I'll destroy the case. Would there be a way to cut most of it without drilling the rivets?

Drilling would be the easiest and cleanest way to remove rivets, it's fairly straight forward since you can see the drive bays as a single unit or piece of metal attached to the case. One thing you will need some touch up paint or paint markers to blackout some parts since they assemble to case before spraying so removing the cage will leave a few spots of unpainted metal.

Hmm I'll give it a try. Do you known if the cage is one piece or is each like rail section it's one piece? I need to keep one rail section in place as I have a bay mounted fan controller that has to be screwed into the bay.

You would need to mod a new mount for the fan controller since it's bent like a U shape from a single pieces of metal it all has to come out unless you cut it up.
