I am looking for a radiator to do a future water loop. I need an input port and an export port on a dual 120mm rad that will be on one side then another (if that made any sence). I do not want to run a hose across my motherboard, just looks bad. This will for my CPU and the second rad for my two R9 290x that will be over clocked and will produce a crap ton of heat. This set up will be in a Thermaltake Level 10 GT case hanging from the top.

I will also be hanging a radiator from the outside back vent using brackets so it can have multiple fans (mostly likely the same size) for my two R9 290x GPUs.

All and any suggestions will be apreciated. This will be done sometime in 2016. Once the parts are all picked out I will post what I will be getting and sometime in 2016 post pics of the setup. Is it far away? Yes but I will do so as a big thanks!

Thank you so much guys.

It would depend on how thick of a rad you would require but the Alphacool and EKWB ones both have that option, I'm assuming you want ports on both sides of the rads:

45mm thick:

60mm thick:

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

what you are describing for the opposite ended ports is called a cross-flow radiator.

the thermal capacity on a cross-flow is half or less as a standard 240 radiator. mounting

this as a thermal solution for a CPU/2x GPU is not enough for any cooling capacity.

especially a cross-fire 290x config. not enough radiator, period.

2400-3000 rpm level.

How exactly would it be less than half?

Wouldent it be exactly half?

not really as the assumption is that all the coolant in gets pulled out.. and it does not.

but wouldent the same be true of a regular dual pass rad?

I have attached a file with a rough sketch of what I am wanting to do. EK has a brakcet that can hold a RAD to the 140mm exhaust fan placement on my tower. Again I am wanting a dual 120mm RAD (240mm RAD) not a single. Thanks for the fast comments, hope it doesn't start some kind of argument........ :P

PS I am trying to keep this low maintenance so distilled water, kill coil, and anti-corrisive (for extra carefulness) will be added. I don't want to stain the carpet with color additives....... that would be bad, you'll hear about it on the news cause I was killed for ruining good carpet. :P

Now that things are a bit clearer (and because I am a bit slow) I forgot to ask what brands would yall recommend that I look at? I do not mind spending a little extra for something that will last longer and has a darn good warranty. I like the first link W-L, I love that textured look!!

The RAD on the back of the tower will defiantly be a slandered one, don't feel like running a long a$$ tube like the Russian mentioned.

Some good brands for watercooling stuff like EKWB, Alphacool, Primochill, bitspower, Koolance, etc.

As for things like pumps the D5 would be one of the best pumps out there, and EKWB has pretty much some of the best waterblocks.

I personally like Alpahcool they work well for me, some other ones like the Black Ice, EKWB, XSPC are all pretty top notch, if your looking for a more silence oriented system try to go for lower FPI (fins per inch) so the fans can spin slower and so it won't be as restrictive or cause as much turbulence.

They do a pretty good roundup here on the performance of different rads but are standardize to 360mm ones:

I have the 280mm black ice nemesis x-flow that @W-L linked to - as well as the equivalent u-flow - in my rig and they are very good quality, look decent and so far I have been very happy with the performance.

Awesome site. I read allot of it. Very interesting find. Thanks for that.

Thanks to everyone. I will see about posting pictures later in 2016 when I get the funds.
