This could be a windows update temp directory. Sometimes Windows Update uses a different drive temporarily to install an update. Usually after a windows update has installed successfully, the folder should be removed upon your next reboot. But it's always a good idea to scan the folder with a virus scanner just in case if you don't know what it is.

This has also hapeen with the C drive should i virus scan that too. It didn't get removed after a roboot.

I think it happened after I installed malwarebytes.

Check the folders to see if they are empty. Is there any files in them? If the folder is empty, then it should be safe to remove.

there is probably 2,000 folders I checked some random ones and they were empty. the first letter of each folder is going in order, about 30 folders for each letter are in order and it goes all the way to F.

That doesn't sound like Windows Update folders then. Is there anything that you installed on your system recently? I would check your Programs and Features to see what programs was recently installed.  I would also check the dates on when the folders were created and cross check them with the programs that have been installed. I have seen badly coded "free" shady programs do this. Run a full malware/virus scan on both drives. After the system is cleaned, delete the folders. Worst case senerio is doing a backup, format and reinstall to fully wipe out the program that is causing the folder creations.

I installed free Malwarebytes recently.

 reinstall WIndows.

dont do this, this is dumb.

they are likely temp folders for misc. stuff.  most if not all of them will probably be empty.  run malwarebytes just in case, then create a restore point(just in case) and delete them all. if its important, they'll get remade. if it REALLY important, just restore and dont worry about it.

How do Reavers clean their spears?
