Should i spent my 250 bucks or keep saving?

samcool55

I'm completely lost so i'm searching for advice now.

I have 250-ish bucks in my pocket waiting to be spent, but i don't know on what.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things i have that i don't think need an upgrade:

Keyboard: razer blackwidow, real MX blues, works fine

Mouse: MX Performance, works great

SSD: got that, don't need more of it.

HDD: again, don't need more of it.

CPU: 4670k

CPU Cooler: H100i

GPU: HD6950 (see note 1)

Case: Antec 1200, was a gift so i won't get rid of it.

Sound system: i have 2 2.1 systems connected, more than enough power, i can't make a lot of noise anyway because i'm in an appartment.

Webcam: decent enough.

And probably some other things i forgot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things i considered upgrading but not an option because what i want is probably out of budget, but i'm open for suggestions.

Monitor: i have 4 of them, main one is a 1080p TN panel based one, i searched for a 21:9 monitor but nothing really i liked. Again, suggestions are welcome (ps: i don't want 1440p)

Chair: All of them are too expensive, i want a racing-style seat, i tried one before and i really prefer it's ergonomics. Again, suggestions are welcome.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note 1: i don't want a new gpu yet, 6950 is still good enough for my 1080p monitor and i want a gpu that has real full support for DX12, probably still far away but don't care. Don't need one desperately so i can wait. Maybe some people will say it might be time to upgrade it, but i think it's just a bit too early for it to go. I can live with medium-high details :P

TL:DR suggest things that i can buy to improve my gaming experience but my rig is fine and don't really need an upgrade.

not until next year but by then you will have saved up enough for a top end pascal card.

Well your rig is okay because u refuse to upgrade the gpu, but if its all you need then that perfect as your wallet will love you (GPUs are the most expensive tech :( )

I suggest the new chair as its very important for your health and nothing is more important than that.

Picking the right one is the rocket science to me as there arent stores where you can try all these fancy racing chairs out and all u are left with are the opinions and reviews.

But stay strong and go through the weeks of deciding and finding the one for you.

I gave up because my £150 budget is too low for those. Im planning on saving £250 and then my choices will increase.

But my cheap ass personality has issues with me spending more than £200 on anything. It was hard to swallow the £245 payment for my cpu...

Good luck to you :)

Not sure about that, unless AMD fights back hard pascal will be expensive af...

I mean look at the 970, it's tbh mid-high end and it costs 350-400.

Compare that to the 6950 i have from back in the day, it was just a bit slower than the highest-end card out there and i paid it 270...

Times have changed and i don't like them. Unless something big happens i won't be able to afford one of the highest-end cards out there.

@samcool55 I just bought a Serta Big and Tall Executive Chair, single handedly the most comfortable computer chair I've ever sat in and seats a big person like myself comfortably, racing computer chair? SOL m8, I don't know in retail stores that have those ready to go. Not tigerdirect, maybe hhgregg?

Yes i know ergonomics and health is important, and i want a maxnomic, as you said there is no way to try them so the only option i have is hope linus is right and belive him maxnomics are a very good option. I'm close to be able to affording one so maybe i should save for that.

The chair i have atm is quite big and comfortable but i want to get something else.

I'm sitting in it in bad ways and it makes me very lazy, it causes me to lose focus during games and i don't like that D:

Pls don't get mad but i'm not really into e-sports. I like watching them but i don't support a team or something like that.

I enjoy watching it but that's it. But again a maxnomic has been on my mind (it's a needforseat one, maxnomic is their seat line) I'll probably get a normal one :P

I love IPS, i have one, it's complicated but i know how nice IPS is, but i want more of a new monitor than just going from TN to IPS... I also want Freesync/G-sync (depends on next graphics card) and ultrawide, and if possible 144Hz but whatever :D I don't need 3440x1440, a nice 2560x1080 is good enough for me :) It doesn't have to be huge.
