Is the WD Green really quiet?

It's pretty quiet. There are quieter drives like WD Reds/Purples but they're basically differently optimized higher quality Greens.

about as quiet as HDD's get.

i have a green and it sucks so hard, its ok for storage but for a boot drive godddddd damnnnn, it feels like you're waiting for your first ever pension to come through it takes that long.

They are slow :P that's probably what they meant

They break easily - if you want stability get a Red or Blue drive.

They're about as reliable as any other hdd. 

about as quiet as HDD's get.

There are still quieter drives. I'd otherwise be using Greens myself.

I own a WD green and it's pretty quiet.

from my personal experiance, the 840 evo is pretty quiet.

Comparing a SSD to a hard drive isn't really a fair comparison.

I know, but its certainly quieter :P I would advise staying away from the seagate 1TB SSHD because its motor is quite loud.
