Swap Drive help

Help me pl0x

My dad has a pretty old PC with winXP, so I decided to swap the OS HDD for a SSD with win7 pre-installed, but when I booted with the new SSD, it asked me to choose whether to boot safe mode, last known boot, or normal boot, and when I choose normal boot It just shows the windows logo and it reboots itself, going back to the options again, same with the Last known boot option (this time the logo stays longer, then it reboots again).

Is it the compatibility issue? or am I doing something wrong?

here's the build of the old pc

Intel Pentium E5400

P5KPL-AM-CKD-VISUM-SI mobo

DDR2 2 GB PC2-5300

Thanks in advance!

you should reinstall windows while the new drive is in the system

any not all xp systems support 7, just keep that in the back of your head

will I need the cd key again? or can I just get a USB with OS?
