Cant connect to my Teamspeak 3 server using wan ip...

I am quite sure i portforwarded  everything correctly on my router and that i have the correct wan ip but the only way i can connect is through localhost. Here are a few screenshots and the logs of the server and client. I am running Windows 10 pro 64-bit on my main pc while windows 8.1 pro 64-bit on the server pc. Hope its ok if i blacked out the ip... I also dont know why it says windows 7 on server log and windows 8 on client log. My router is the linksys wrt120n

Did you check the firewall of your windows?

When I installed TS3 server on my Windows 2012 R2 Server I had to make a rule in the windows firewall to allow TS3 to communicate.

From experience with TS3, it's a lot less stress to just buy a cheapo server somewhere. Even as a techie guy I give up when it comes to TS3 servers. Ventrilo and Mumble were always easier.

Are you trying it with a computer somewhere on the internet or are you using a computer on your LAN connection?

 

Computers on LAN can't connect with other computers on LAN using the WAN IP.

Well, I guess it'd be worth double checking if 192.168.1.105 is the Private IP of your server, also, try running TS server on another PC and changing your ports accordingly.

They are both connect to the same network via Ethernet.. i can join with localhost but i cant with the wan ip meaning friends cant join..

That's odd, I've connected to systems on my LAN network via my public IP plenty of times without problem.

I managed to get mumble setup but teamspeak is just better made so i would prefer using it

It tells me Error: I could not see your service on ... on port (9987)

Considering you can join with Localhost, there is a very strong indication that something is blocking that or a port is not forwarded correctly. Also I have not much experience in setting up TS3 servers but why is it listening on 0.0.0.0:9987?

I  have no idea.. the last time i set one of these up was 2 years ago and it just worked...

 

Edit - I saw some people with similar problems that said that their ISP was blocking UDP access but other servers just work...

What router do you have? Are you sure you port forwarded correctly with all possible ports (9987). Who is your ISP? Do you live in the UK or US or another place?

Thats not right.

 

Did you try and bind TS3 to your external IP? If so don't. Let it bind to your internal IP then forward the port in your router and it will open it up to your external IP.

Okay, so.

 

First of all, you installed the server normally and all that stuff.

Then you port forwarded it? Both as port 9987 and the protocol as both? And the IP adress of 192.168.1.105?

Then you tried to connect with Localhost and you could connect, but when connecting with the IP it did not connect? Also, ports show as closed. 

Everyone trying to connect is on the same network but Wireless? Or by Ethernet? Or both? Or are they in a different location?

 

If you have not done some of these, try doing it.

 

I think it is a port problem (80% sure), so try to re-install the server on a different port and then port forward on that new port.

I think the 0.0.0.0 IP address means it is applying for every IP, I guess he could change it to 192.168.1.1 maybe? Or is it looking for 192.168.1.105?
