this is a build that i'm planning to make.

It's for gaming and i still need to buy the parts so what do you think?

Please don't get skylake, benefits aren't worth it for the price. pls pls pls pls. Consumer grade atleast. Maybe look into getting a R9 390, better performance, longevity.

6600k Is only 20$ more than a 4690k. and a r9 390 i'm not sure.. nvidea is usually better in quality ecc.

All looking good, and it should all be compatible.

Just one thing: You may need a little more than 500W to power a GTX 970 and a Quad Core i5 from Intel.

600W should be absolutely perfect for this build, I think its best to be on the safe side.

You don't need a 600W PSU. Even if you overclock the i5 you won't come close to 500W. 970's are very power efficient cards. I would invest in a better quality PSU however. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/406160-psu-ranking-and-tiers/

The build generally looks good. I would definitely consider a SSD for the build as it would reduce significantly all boot and loading times, make the whole system much more responsive and increase transfer speeds. It won't affect your gaming experience besides faster loading times, but it's still worth it. 
I would also consider a 2x4GB memory kit so you can upgrade with another 2x4GB down the road and make a good use of the quad-channel support (unless you are planning to expand your memory further). 
WD Blue is a great drive for such builds :) it should serve you well.
