Unified Weapons Master offers high-tech gladiatorial combat

jos
the Unified Weapons Master IndieGoGo campaign was on 42 percent of it's $100,000 goal with 31 days to go.
While the money will help, Pysden also hopes the campaign will bring UWM to a wider audience. If you look at the backer rewards for the campaign, you'll see that tickets are already being offered for matches in 2016. The UWM team are hoping to host these events after a round of beta testing.
"In early January we want to have some very small test bouts, pretty much with no audience, almost as a beta test," he says. " After that, in the first part of 2016, the plan is to have some very small scale underground events with very limited audience and those are the tickets we're offering through the IndieGoGo campaign."
After that, the concept is to build up the events slowly, moving into small stadiums or arenas as the format is continually refined. By 2017, Pysden wants to take UWM to the US for some serious rounds.

The suit is known as the Lorica -- a Latin word for armour -- and the design is a blend of Robocop, Master Chief, and maybe even a dash of Tony Stark. It's made of multiple layers of protective materials embedded with sensors that can detect not only where the armour is struck, but how hard. As Pysden says in the video above, the blow's strength is then compared to biomedical data about injuries to determine what scoring is given for the strike. It allows for the combatants to use the full extent of their weapons training, without fear of serious injury and without the need to reduce the strength of their blows.

Now you can do serious fighting without getting injured but still see how you get  injured in real.. Now we can see new Kind of fighting sport series...Even the sensor can upload and do analytics in real time without getting damaged.. First tournament in 2016.. Imagine combining this with oculus.

The suits look very Mass Effect like if not directly Cerberus inspired. Also their movement seems really robotic which indicates that the suit doesn't seem to be all that flexible :( although medieval armor wasn't entirely flexible either.
