GPU is a hidden display adapter?

AFRIENDLYROCK

I have to use my mobo HDMI to do anything with my computer. When i boot up the computer if the HDMI is hooked up to the GPU, then I doesn't display anything. Is there away to switch my GTX960 to default display adapter?

Enter the Bios and under "Primary Display Adapter" or something of the sort, select PCIe lane #1

You might need to manually change it in the bios, it usually should switch on its own if it detects a PCIe graphics card, but doesn't always. You'll need to boot from your Motherboard graphics, go into the bios and switch your display adapter to be PCIe (the settings and where the option is located very by vender so you'll need to check your Motherboard manual for further details). Once you do that, save and exit the bios then shut down your machine, plug into the dedicated gpu and it should work. If it doesn't work, then make sure you have your gpu seated all the way into the slot (reseat it if necessary) check to make sure all the PCIe power connectors are properly connected and try again.

Changing default display adapter did absolutely nothing in the bios. I'm never buying from asrock again

100% sure it's in the bios - every bios has this - it's essential for it to pass approval.

Odd - did you save your settings? Make sure the BioS battery is in place properly so that it doesn't abolish your settings.

Disable iGPU, though not advisable, that is an option I guess

It hasn't been enabled. In the Asrock EUFI system browser, it shows that PCIE2 is empty, even though my GPU is clearly plunged in.

PCIE2? Why not PCIE1? That's where your discrete GPU is and PCIE2 SHOULD be empty - the iGPU is a seperate option in the CPU area
