Is it still possible to go bitcoin mining and make profit of it these days? and if its worth it?

I doubt it's profitable.

Maybe an altcoin, other than that not really.

BitCoin is not profitable at all at this point. maybe some other form of cryptocurrency, but not bitcoin.

No not with consumer hardware, barely profitable using small mining boxes like the Antminer and only in a area where power is cheap.

LiteCoin is the second largest Cryptocurrency, is easy to set up if you want to use a pool, and works on Scrypt.
