It is 100hz, it says at the bottom of the website.

Overclock
Boost your refresh rate up to 100Hz with built-in overclocking. Minimize motion blur and enjoy more frames per second.
Color Gamut

idk what overclock means, is it pre oc'd or is it a theoretical max ?

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

It says "overclock to 100hz" lol

But why no 109hz that's the maximum.

This website looks really good, you can notice ACER are making a push for quality on their Predator brand, now we got to wait for a review of the ACER X34

I think this might be where ACER Predator is the quality components and the other ACER components are terrible

I can't say my Acer XB270HU really feels like "quality product" but hey, it's the only one on the market, so no choices.

Not the new Predator brand though, if you look on their website. That is the Predator brand, your monitor does not use the Predator branding on the monitor. These are the new monitors

Not going to notice 9hz in the refresh rate, also there might of been problems at 109hz with DP 1.2

Like any AMD cards can handle it.

Here watch this: https://youtu.be/BHAIe-fOTyM?t=14m39s then https://youtu.be/BHAIe-fOTyM?t=16m7s

my 290 could run it fine ( crossfire would be even better ),

you can always lower settings. also most games that require higher refreshes are easy to run ( in my case : CS:GO ), I'm ok with lowering the settings considering I'm running a 200€ gpu,

that being said, I'm not the kind of guy to spend 1,1k + € on a monitor, I just don't see the point of truncating 25hz off the refresh rate ( even if it's like the MG279Q where you would de activate freesync at 75+ hz or something, I would prefer that )

They just announced the Z35 which will be released in December with refresh rates at 200hz. It will be about $1,200USD. I wish they would give us a definite date on the x34 already.

Well I had a Tri-X R9 290 sold it and bought a 980Ti instead of adding a second one and paying +150€ for a new PSU

The 9hz is overhead. You can't actually get up that high.

It can be overclocked to 200hz. It starts at 144hz. It's 1080P height so you can get a lot more headroom out of that. Almost 1 million more pixels.

the 980ti being 3-4x the price of a 290,

also that's bad planning on your part if you wanted to crossfire but didn't have the psu to support it

if you have the budget, great, but I don't have 700€ to dump on a 980ti, I'm not arguing that a amd card is better, just saying that there should be the same refresh rates for both, even if that required disabling freesync

109hz is maximum at 3440x1440 on DP 1.2

Wiki -> DisplayPort 1.2 has more bandwidth at 21.6 Gbit/s (17.28 Gbit/s with overhead removed)

Well you're running it pretty close since at 32 bits per color channel you're at 17.27 or exactly 17.28Gbits on a quality cable. 100hz was probably chosen because it's safer and leaves room for deviations.

My guess is that they compressed some of the colors because they're over by a small amount. At that resolution at 32 bits we're talking 17.6Gb/s. If they run at a lower color depth then they have no problem achieving that refresh rate (assuming they're not making shit up).

Bad plan because 4 years ago I didn't think of a 1000W PSU when I build my budget PC?

U can maybe use the monitor at 100hz without G-Sync, but I'm not sure since my Acer XB270HU only ran at 120hz instead of 144hz when I connected it to my R9 290.
