i'm gonna recommend against the FX processor, not because its slow in general, but because it does SO bad is badly threaded workloads.

 

with an i3 you're gonna lose some total performance, but it'll run cooler (quieter!) and in badly threaded workloads (like every source engine game ever for example.) it'll do MUCH better.

 

and something else why i'm gonna push intel here: their stock coolers are mindblowingly easy to install.

i've had two seperate occasions where i gave a complete "newbie" like you a stock intel cooler, and they had it installed before i could tell them how to.

I'm not quite sold with an i3. After some browsing I came up with http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hZTqzy . Is it better than the builds I found earlier and are there any tweaks that would make it better?
