Try going to your web browser and type in http://192.168.1.254. This should take you to the router page. What router have you got?

can't connect to the router.

Hmmm, what router is it?

Try:

Go to control panel and search for "network" without the "". And then go to "View Network Connections" and right click and go to "Properties" then TCP/IPv4 and Properties. Then "Use the following IP address" Then type in IP:192.168.1.5 and Subnet: 255.255.255.0 and Default: 192.168.1.1

Internet might not work (because you have changed your IP address and the router will 99% give you one however you have set it not to by setting it to that. If you know how in your router you can set a static IP address for that device as 192.168.1.5) however that does not matter yet, you are just trying to access the router with the default gateway.

Again go to the web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1

Shutdown your computer and unplug power from the modem and router, plug in the modem, wait a few minutes for it to reconnect to the ISP, plug in the router, wait a few minutes for it to get a connection from the modem, then turn your PC back on and do an IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt to see if it is configuring correctly again. If still not working, connect directly to the modem and see if you get a working connection, if that works then try resetting the router (press the reset switch/hole for 15 seconds), if still not working then you need a new router. If the router was provided by the ISP, they need to be called for support.

Problem is I am directly connected with the router .. wireless works fine, if I connect something other then my rig into the cable it works 0 issues.. im assuming my internal modem is the problem on my motherboard but im not sure.

Could you not manually set your default gate way?

It's not a race to the bottom.
