IFA 2015: Asus announces the Zenwatch 2 with aggressive pricing

Asus just unveiled the successor to the original Zen watch at IFA in Berlin.

 

 

 

 

It's been a few months now since we first clapped eyes on the ASUS ZenWatch 2, the company's second stab at an Android Wear timepiece. Today, we've got a smattering of new details to go along with those first impressions

 

The new zen watch will come at the same aggressive price the Zen watch was known for. Weirdly now that it has size options, the larger watch is actually cheaper.

 

 

 

The larger 49mm model will cost around €149 (about $170), while the dinkier 45mm variant will set you back €169 ($190). Both will be hitting store shelves worldwide in October.

 

The zen watch comes with an AMOLED display and a snapdragon 400, to also features a new watch crown along with magnetic charging.

 

 

 

 

If you need a reminder, the wearables feature a new metal crown, AMOLED screens and a Snapdragon 400 processor. They also support a magnetic charger cable -- an improvement over the old plastic cradle -- and superior dust-and water-resistance ratings of IP67.

 

 

It's always nice to see newer watches in the android wear space, while the Zenwatch never had anything groundbreaking it wad quite the good looker for price.

Bezels still too big. We can make phones near bezel less, but not watches where screen size is required even more.

Agreed. Atleast the SIDEs should have no bezels. Top and bottom ones don't bother me as much.
