Recommend me a solid monitor for my work station

Khav

Some background info :

I live in Mauritius and currently there is no major brand stores there so i usually order from Amazon/NewEgg using Hopshopgo and then ship them to Mauritius. One major downside is that i can't RMA if there is an issue with the monitor.I am a  would be software engineer and i use my pc mainly for programming(include game programming) , watch movies and a little bit of gaming(i am NOT a hardcore gamer). My new build is equipped with    ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5.

I currently have a 19" monitor (yes i have a small desk)

Size : 24''

Price: $200-400 (Exclude shipping) .

Resolution : 1080p or 1440p

It would be nice if the monitor include a UK plug ( US power cable won't do here)

I plan to use the monitor for 5+ years

I initially considered ASUS PB278Q but its plagued by bad reviews in the sense its not durable or bad shipping

Recommend me a solid monitor

Well if you want 1080p get the Dell U2414H. If you want 1440p get the Dell U2515H. If you want 1080p 144hz then get the Asus VG248Q or BenQ XL2411z. If you want G-sync then get the BenQ XL2420G. If you want the best gaming monitor 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync then get the ROG Swift PG278Q which is almost double your budget.

Ive have had the U2414H for only a couple months, just a temporary monitor until I have my ROG Swift. Now its a secondary monitor. Its a great monitor tho, beautiful colour and offers a lot of feature, and it has a very very high quality stand. Like I said the Dell U2515H is 1440p, it is basically a 24" monitor just a tiny bit bigger. It is also very cheap only $350 on NCIX.
