Comments/Recommendations on new PC build planned

Carnage15

Hello all,

I have come up with the below system (thus far) and am looking for feedback regarding the build. Basically the system is going to be for gaming, streaming, video edits (of both shorter gaming clips and longer programming video tutorials), virtual machine work and various photoshop.

I was trying to work off of a black/white theme and keep a cheaper price point. I heard that a 5820k would be a better processor but I am not sure the 2 extra cores is worth the increased processor, motherboard and RAM cost. I welcome any and all feedback! - its been a while since I have built a PC - so I figured I should ask around.

Budget: Max $2000 after GST if possible - Canadian currency

Current parts picked out:

Case: NZXT H440 (White) - http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51620

Processor: Intel i7 4790k - http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX52609

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark S - http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX55665

RAM: HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR3 1866MHz CL10 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 8GB)-http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51510

Video Card: Asus Turbo GTX 970 OC - http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX57357

Power Supply: Corsair CX850M - http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX54832

Note: I will be using the hard drives from my old PC (I have an SSD and a few SATAs). Eventually I will grab a new SSD down the road. I also have 2 23" monitors that will be carried over to this build as well.

I would appreciate any comments or feedback!

Thanks,

Brad

I'd suggest either going Z170 or X99 if possible. Z97 is the end of the road for LGA 1150 so potentially upgrading the CPU in the future is likely to be a pain.

I'd also suggest a different PSU, like an EVGA G2

This gives you $400-whatever tax is change. 980Ti is AMAZING for gaming, and the G1 is B/W. I have given you a Skylake i7, rather than the older Haswell I7 4790K. I have done everything to a black/white theme.

Sorry I edited the post - it would be $2000 Canadian. Thanks for the suggestions Jeb and I would love to have that build Bob, unfortunately its a bit pricey (my fault for forgetting about Canadian currency - It pushes up to $2220 when I switch to Canada.
