Android wear compatible with iPhone?

So I've been reading online that android wear now works with iPhones. This is pretty interesting because it makes so many more watches available to iPhone users. I was wondering if anybody here on the forum has been able to see how they work together??? I'm looking into getting a smartwatch (I have an iPhone 6) but I think the Apple Watch is just overpriced for my needs. Something around the 200-300 range would be ideal for me.

I know the next generation Moto 360 is rumored to launch soonish and I'm wondering how well it would work. I've been considering the Pebble Time, but from what I hear the screen is pretty awful, and I don't mind charging every night or so. I usually have a battery pack on me if push comes to shove.

What do you guys think???

Well I think I'll wait for the Moto 360 gen 2 to be announced to see if it will have native iOS support. I think it will be my choice if it does. I don't want to have to jailbreak or use 3rd party apps to get it to work :(
