GTX 960. This was pretty much the reason they made it: its a dialed down 970 for people who don't want to spend $350 for a graphics card

dont listen to the 960 fools, go with the 280x. ultra 60 FPS in 95% of games

380 is about 10% faster than a 960 and is quite a bit newer than a 280X offering better longevity and better support for both DX12 and features such as Audio over HDMI, bridgless CF and Free-sync - things not available on the Tahiti chipset.

and 280x supports dx12, all 700 seires gpus do

I am reading the OP - and as soon as a game uses a moderate amount of tessellation the 280X drops 20 frames while the 380 drops 8 frames - newer technology - it also uses better texture compression making the 4 GB on it quite a bit better tham the 3 GB on the 280X

Tnx don ill use that to help me in deciding between the 280x and 380, although arent they both based off the same gpu?

280x is Tahiti from 2011 December. 380 is Tonga from 2014 - much newer and better tech integrated.
