Hard Drive cage

neebuilda

Does anyone know of any standalone hard drive cages that can be bought? I was looking for one to mount 1 or 2, 3.5 inch drives in my custom case, but cant seem to find any online. Not worried about 2.5 inch drives because they can be velcroed in anywhere. If any one can find one under 123mm in height then that would be perfect.

You would need to modify the mounting to securely hold it into your case but something like parts from Corsair could be used:

Didnt think of spare case parts. Thanks for that. I'll have look round some case manufacturers websites and see if anything suits my needs. Actually now I think, I remember seeing lots of useful looking spare parts on the lian li website.

Caselabs has some HDD mounts which, though perhaps a bit pricey, would likely work in many builds.

When you flirt with Death, you run the risk that Death has something more serious in mind.

Have you considered angled bracket installation of your hard drives?  These are some renderings of what I am going to be using on my current build.

Yeah I think that's in one of Linus's latest videos where he shows the top 5 Intel PCs. It aesthetically looks very pleasing in my opinion, especially if you have a 730 series from Intel which has a nice little skull on the corner. Also add some lighting on the top for even more aesthetics.
