HDD Cloning Help?!?!?

My hard drive on my computer is about to fail on me. I have a bunch of important data on it, I need to transfer ALL my data immediately. Could you guys recommend me some good free software to use and guide me through using it. This is pretty urgent and I need the new hdd to be exactly the same as the old one, with windows. I have no experience with transferring data from one hdd to another.

if you're getting a new drive of the same size, get a livecd of a linux distro of choice and use dd.

(it allows you to set an input device and output device, and pretty much copies byte per byte)

 

that said, i'm pretty sure the ssd cloning software out there can achieve the same.
