GTX 970 Problem only use 80-90 %

hey guys my gpu only uses 80-95% of its power in games like

 

witcher3 , assasins creed black flag 

 

in cs go its even worse it just uses 50%

 

i have a gtx 970 strix 

 

i5 4670k at 4.1

 

Msi motherboard gaming z87

 

8 gig corsair vengence

 

i already set maximum performence prefert in driver

CSGO won't tap out your card. Hell it won't tap out a R7 240.

But for The Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed IV, it's probably more of it doesn't need 100% usage.

cs:go for me doesnt even use 30%, its a  cpu game not gpu.

Im only doing 48% in csgo and 89% in BF4, its not the gpu, its gpu boost 2.0 that regulates the gpu speeds.

it's normal in CS:GO, it's not that heavy of a game to run so don't worry

bf4 for me drops my gpu usage a lot on shanghai on tdm, its only just recently started happening, fucking dice to blame.

 

normally 98% usage, then near the car room it drops to 60% and back up, tanks my fps.

Are you mixing up Power Usage with GPU usage, Power usage is how much of your wattage limit your are using up, if you reach 100%, you're card will underclock itself, because it's reached TDP (wattage) limit.

Im afraid its not. It is the Constantly changing gpu speeds. If your gpu is at 98% at one point of the map, its because the it would be more detailed "more action" and in other points nothing happens, so the gpu will only run 60% there. It's easy. More details = more load :-)

ikr dice are bellends, it only started happening since the last update, dice really need to learn how to make a game properly, bfh was a flop.

Hmm, well in that case, When GPU usage isn't at its maximum 100%, is can be because you are in a CPU limit situation, not to say your CPU is bad, but games like CSGO are very CPU dependent, if you play something that's CPU light, like Crysis 1, and you'd probably see 100% usage on your GPU.

 

Some games might not be CPU limited because the need to do alot of CPU calculations, but because they only use 1 or 2 CPU cores at once.

Help with what exactly? I can't make his GPU go any quicker. If he thinks it's a defect, RMA it. More than that? There's not yet a magic program or hardware that can triple a GPU's power.

Pvt. 8Ball    hm funny thing i download the new nvidia driver , it seems to be fixed    witcher 3 99% (exept when it stutters)  Assasins creed 92-97 % (witch is ok i guess)
