Corsair 450D vs Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX

Hey guys,

I am having trouble choosing between the Corsair 450D and the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX. Currently, I am just starting college, and I have been using my macbook to type documents and do homework.  However, I have all of the parts of my computer (Asus X79 deluxe, 780ti, H100i, Samsung 850 pro, etc) in my closet, except for a case.  Preferably, I would like to get my machine up and running in a proper case as soon as possible, but the ATX version of the EVOLV is not currently available on Amazon (Sept 23 shipped at earliest).  Should I go ahead with the 450D, which I still think is a very good looking case, or wait for the Phanteks to become available?  Or should I find another alternative?  Many people that I know have swayed away from the 450D because of quality and price, which is why I hesitate on purchasing it, but the Phanteks looks so good.  Also, I have Amazon Prime for the 450D, so it would come in the next few days (which I like a lot).

Thanks!

TBH, the enthoo evolv looks better as an MITX. I'd stick with the 450D

Sounds like you like the Evolv better.  Wait 23 days so you won't be second guessing yourself with your build over the next year or so.  I am waiting for the Evolv as well.  The Corsair 450 is nice, but I think the Evolv is gorgeous  .  Worth the short wait,

I have the Evolv ATX.  It definitely looks awesome.  I love the lack of ugly mesh and all aluminum panels.  Best part is it doesn't look like a plain box.  That's one reason I can never get any of the obsidian cases from corsair or fractal's cases.  Can't stand these "premium" boxes.  Phanteks' did it right with the Evolv line.  Got rid of my massive and ugly HAF X for it.

I own the Evolv ATX case and I say it was nice and easy to build in, with plenty of space for tidy cable management. Take a look at the below like to see my complete build on pcpartpicker.

TBH the 450D isn't much of a competition for the Evolv ATX. Phanteks products have outstanding build quality and the newest Evolv case is no exception. Thick aluminium panels, awesome design and super heavy (13 Kg).

If you aren't willing to spend the money for the Evolv, you should definitely take a look at Fractal Design Cases, way better value for the money than the toy cases Corsair manufactures.

I know the quality will be significantly better, but the problem is time not the price.  I don't want to wait almost a month without a desktop computer.  Also, I have a define R4 back home (which I do like a lot), but I don't really like the window on either the R4 or R5.  I think a better question should be whether the 450D build quality is similar to that of Fractal.  If not, is it worth waiting that time for the Phanteks without my pc?

I'd say it's worth the wait.  It's a fantastic case.  Perhaps you can get a super cheap case in the mean time while you buy the phanteks?
