980ti or r9 390(1440p)

which of these should i get for 1440p, i know both cards are very much capable and considering i will get a freesync or gsync pannel to go along with it i dont know if the framerates will make much of a difference in the end since it will be too smooth to differentiate. I WILL NOT buy the 390x, period 100 dollars more for a couple more shaders does not interest me.

980Ti crushes the 390. At 1440p especially you want to squeeze out every frame you can.

Depends; G-Sync is for NVIDIA. It reduces stuttering, and overall makes everything more smooth. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/faq

id be getting a reference on the 980ti simply for its compatibility with waterblocks for the future when i decide to do a  custom loop and i do want to kick up AA so 6gb or the 8gb would be preferrable

Custom cards are 20-25% faster. I mean realy, my 980Ti is so fast, its insane. Believe me Dude, spend that extra Cash.

There´s no Point in getting one, Custom 980Ti´s are faster than TitanX.

Yeah...I don't think you can compare those two cards because 980ti and 390 are not on the same level and the same price. You can compare 390's price and performance with gtx970, they are closer...So in my opinion, in 1440P I think a 390X will be a great choice and 390 is simply not enough( if you can stand playing a game not in ultra or high setting without AA,such as GTA5 and The witcher3) and a 390X can max out(maybe just msaaX2). And you even consider a 980ti? Because you can max everything out with this card indeed...but it is a waste, you can't truly use this card's performance and it will cost you a fortune. So consider this bro
