CPU and Mobo, Should I get them soon & RAM even later?

Guest

Alright, So I was just thinking, Christmas is coming up in a few months, and my parents said this year to keep it under $500 this year, since you know, PC last year, This is what I was thinking, I need to do the X99 switch eventually so I figured this year. Since a 980Ti is still a bit expensive, and I'll buy it when I have the money. Also, Please don't say its a waste of money for me, I do have uses for it, (One of those is Overclocking)

So, TL;DR Version, Should I buy everything at once, or should I buy the CPU/Mobo now and RAM later?

Just hold off on buying and just buy it all at the same time, better stuff might be released for the same amount if not less by then.

I am hoping some Skylake Extreme Edition or Devils Canyon Extreme Edition chips will be released soon

If you dont have DDR4 memory laying around, then its no use buying the rest, as it will just gather dust while you wait for money to buy the ram.

So might as well try and buy everything together.

Maybe some nice family members can increase the budget?

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

hehe no

I may be able to pull that off, Don't really have that many family members, because $700 dollars for RAM, Mobo, and CPU, Which I could easily pour into a 980Ti Hall of Fame (Which I might in that case if I get the money all at once) I don't know, I definately could make use of 6 cores, four isnt cutting it for me.

Anyways, Thanks for everyones response, I'll see what I can do for a 980Ti HoF, Once I get a job I'll buy all the parts at once. The thought of a CPU & Mobo sitting in there would be killing me xD
