Intel 750 Nvme and Z170 Anyone Tested this Combo ?

Hi guys ! I have a question to ask :

Many users have complained in the past with previous chipset generations that the boot time of an intel series 750 drive was slow.

Has this problem been adressed in z170 motherboards ? Anyone have tested this combo perchaps?

Am looking to buy a pcie ssd . I am currently thinking about HyperX Predator or intel 750 ssd . My motherboard will be Asrock Fatality z170 Gaming K6+

Any thoughts ?

IMO go with the Predator, it is cheaper where I live.

I don't really bother about the price as i am considering the 400 Gb version whitch costs almost identical money. I am just cautious about the boot time   :P

You are not the only one thinking about this. 750 boots slow because of ineffective BIOS with NVMe. I did a Google search on the 750's boot speed on z170, but nothing came up. We will need somebody with a z170 and a 750 to test this for us.

The boot problem speed is with the Intel 750 and not the chipset, they done it this way because they wanted to make it more reliable and so it is slower in booting, they need to update the firmware but this might take a long time.

It's partly intel's fault according to their forum as far as firmware updates. The thing is that it's a big performance boost over hyperX Predator for example but if the boot time isn't fixed, i believe it's a waste of money for the average consumer/gamer...

I aggree but just to make sure it's not a compatibility issue .. maybe anyone that has actually used this combo. Maybe even Linus can tell us because he does own one intel 750 drive and i guess a z170 motherboard. I am new to this forum ... Is there a way to send our suggestions to the moderators of the site ?

It has even been commented on by a member of Intel that it is the SSD and not a chipset problem

So your thought is that if it's gonna change it will be in the future by firmware updates only ?

Yeah, it can only happen by firmware updates, Intel is currently making a firmware update to fix the problem but the SSD has been out for so long now, so I am not sure how long it will take for it to come out.
