Problems with internetconnection

Hello,

Ive recently built a new pc, and it is impossible to connect it to the internet by cable, since it's simply too hard to cable it up because of a wall. So I bought a TP-link 4800 n900, and installed it inside my pc, I installed the proper drivers for it and updated just to make sure.
But I still seem to get high ping, and a ton of lag spikes which occur very often, The distance between my router/modem and my pc is very small, its almost directly above it, with the floor separating the two.
Ive come accross WTFast, a service that helps reduce ping by doing stuff with the proxy (or at least I think it does), I used it and it helped a little bit, my ping went from 50ms avarage to 45 avarage and I have a couple fewer spikes. But this still isnt the desired result. After I used wtfast, it gave me an issue report, appearantly something is wrong with the network itself. I couldnt possibly figure out what it meant, it gave my a zipfile which can be seen here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2xyral5idx52ua2/report_20150816_194404.zip

This picture which was also in the rapport made me think the problem is not the connection between my pc and the router, but something else:

It would be great if someone could help me figure out what the issue is and how to fix it.
Thank you.

Do you also have the problems with a ethernet connection?

Yeah this issue is just with poor wifi connection tbh (high ping spikes, lost packets) a long ethernet cable will fix it.

I'm not sure about this and someone correct me if I'm wrong but on your traceroute the response times for what I'm assuming is your router(the first entry, "CISCO57275") looks normal even though you do have some spikes in ping. I would do what Altecice suggested and get an ethernet cable. That will probably stabilize your connection but you should be careful not to make your cable too long as your router may not be able to put enough power into it to transmit the signal all the way.

Coincidentally, you're playing league of legends and iirc riotgames switched thier servers from the west coast(portland) to chicago recently so that may be a part of the problem. Are you on the east or west?

Try changing what channel your wireless router uses, also move any 2.4GHz wireless devices away from the router and your computer (microwave oven, wireless land-line phone, smartphone, etc...).

I never had Problems with long ethernet cables and as long as you stick with gigabit or below the specification has a max length of 100m.

And guessing from the picture and that the WTFast server he uses is in Germany, i guess he is on EUW and not on the NA servers, so the NA server souldn't affect his ping. And the EUW move from Frankfurt to Amsterdam is a bit in the past.

And it shows Ireland as est. game server because there are some chat and login servers in Ireland but not the game servers.

Ive already tried that, no improvement unfortunately .

And yes, Im on EUWest. I live in the Netherlands, so my distance to the server (Amsterdam) isn't the problem.

Looks like ill need that cable to fix this.

I will update whenever I get it.

Oh and the length of the cable is 10m~15m/30ft~50ft, so Im not sure whether that will be a problem like kittywantsbacon said.

Thanks for helping, you all

Not quite true, Routers/Switches all push the same amount of signal down a wire the only defining characteristic of how far a cable can be is its CAT rating (aka CAT5/6) the maximum length for Ethernet CAT6 is about 100m before you need to get a repeater due to signal degradation.

There are some energy saving routers / switches / devices that adjust the power to the lengh of the cable.

To say all of them send the same amout of power isn't quite true but the maximum should be in the same range for all of them.

And what defines the maximum range isn't the cable or CAT rating.

The max length is defined by the protocol or the standard and frequency used by it (e.g. 1000BASE-T) which requires at least a specific CAT rating to operate to that length.

Right, right, I seem to think the world revolves around me and the only region is NA.
