Ethernet questions/Router suggestions

Aytex

So I am about to get new internet and it has 110 down and 10 up

Need router suggestions :)

2nd question is the router is in the kitchen and its pretty far away from all the other PC's I was wondering if Ethernet outlets in every room of my house you can just plug your Ethernet into it and bam you got internet or do you need to connect the router to the outlet? OR does it just depend on how the house was built

As for the second question, the ethernet outlets must be connected to the router (or switch, which is then connected to the router). If you just put an ethernet outlet in a wall with no cable going anywhere, then nothing will happen, even if you connect a PC to it.

depends if your on a budget or not. i have the tp-link archer C7 with a 30 down and 5 up copnnection, works flawlessly. ive also read that the c7 is the best budget router at only $100 it beats routers at $200. the user interface is a bit basic, but i do belive there is a ddwrt build for the C7, I dont have it but i heard it works fine.

yes, a router dosnt care about your WAN speed. It will do anything. All of the ethernet ports are gigabit ports and has wireless AC for fast wireless.

INTERNET <-> COAX/DSL line <@110/10> MODEM <-> ROUTER <-> SWITCH <-> PATCH PANEL 1 <-> ROOM 1 ETHERNET PORT

                                                                                                                                     <-> PATCH PANEL 2 <-> ROOM 2 ETHERNET PORT

                                                                                                                                     <-> ...

                                                                                                                                     <-> PATCH PANEL N <-> ROOM n ETHERNET PORT

Normally the router has a modem built in. Switch is optional if your router has enough ports.
