White noise reduction while recording

I want to record a tutorial, but I have stumbled upon a problem.

If I use the Voice Recorder built into Windows I either get white noise or a high pitched noise (used two different mics).

Using the built in voice recorder in Sony Vegas movie studio gave the same result.

The interesting thing is that when I use TeamSpeak - the audio is better (no white noise but it's a lot quieter).

My questions:

Do I have to get a "better" audio recording program?

or

Do I have to get a better mic

or

Do I have to get a audio adapter?

If I have to get the audio adapter is the Creative Sound Blaster Play a good budget choice? I won't be doing game play commentary - just some tutorials

Have you tried using Audacity or Adobe Audition?

Based on my experience, my SM7B has been doing bad on Windows 10 and it gets alot of this sharp buzzing noise which neither Adobe Audition nor Audacity can remove in post processing. Mind you, it works like normal on Windows 8.1 and my Hackintosh.

I have updated my bios though.
