It would be x8, x8, x4, x4 so that is 24 lanes, the 5820K has 28 CPU lanes, so that is fine

You could go with the 5930K or 5960X as it has 40 lanes, this would then be x16, x16, x4, x4, so you are giving your GPUs x16 lanes, it does not effect performance though

You will have to look in the Motherboard guide because some times it has to be in certain places

This is an example of the MSI X99 Godlike Motherboard

5 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (PCI_E1~E4, PCI_E6), support up to 4-way mode

  • 1-way mode: x16/ x0/ x0/ x0/ x0
  • 2-way mode: x16/ x0/ x0/ x16/ x0*, x16/ x0/ x0/ x8/ x0**
  • 3-way mode: x16/ x0/ x0/ x16/ x8*, x8/ x8/ x0/ x8/ x0**
  • 4-way mode: x8/ x8/ x0/ x16/ x8*, x8/ x8/ x0/ x8/ x4**

* For the CPU that supports 40 PCIe lanes

** For the CPU that supports 28 PCIe lanes
