2x Intel 520 180gb vs 1x Crucial BX100 250gb

Go to solution Solved by SeanBond,

BX100 sells for $92. I was thinking to get the two Intels so I get 360gb of SSD storage. Basically getting me 110gb more than the BX100.

Why should I go for BX100?

Oh well then do that actually if they are new. My brain saw two 520's that were 120gb.

I can get 2x Intel 520 180gb for 110usd or 1x BX100 250gb.

Which do I go for? I am looking for quality between the two. I understand that the Intel 520 is quite old.

Gotcha. They're used for 1 year and SSD Life Pro shows that it'll last until 2024.

I personally don't like the idea of used storage but if they run perfectly fine they won't be noticeably slower than the bx100's I would think. They might be a little older but they were high end when they came out.

I understand what you mean but the fact that's working already and it can last me for more than 8 years makes it an OK bargain purchase imo. It has trim support already and I guess that's the most important tech advancement in SSD I need.

UPDATE: I'm going with the BX100 because I need speed more than storage since I have a 1TB HDD in my rig.

Can't you just RAID-0 the two Intel's?

i5-4690k | GALAX HoF 980Ti | MSI Z97 Gaming 3 | 2xHyperX Fury 8GB @ 2133MHz | 2x240GB Kingston SSD in RAID-0 | 500GB Samsung 850 EVO | NZXT H440 | Corsair H75 | Corsair RM750

Do not go gentle, into that good night.
