bose acoustimas 6 series 2

bigboss96

hear me out. My dad got me these old Bose speakers as a gift, he bought them second hand for $400 and im stuck with them. I wanted to have a home theatre with a small budget by buying old models online etc. well im stuck with these. i attached them to my reciever and they sound pathetic. close to fulll volume and they dont fill the room, and the base module (not even a subwoofer) sucks shit. I want to know is are the speakers damaged or bose is marketing their shitty products well.

lets just day normal small Logitech or creative pc speakers are louder.

Is your receiver pushing out at a different ohm-age compared to the speakers?

example: 8ohm speakers on a receiver rated for 4ohm

Like headphones, if their resistance is high than you'll need something more powerful to power them.

I don't know if the actual speakers are crap/ damaged or not.

EDIT: it may be the other way around

I'd suggest you to take the speakers to a repair shop to check their condition, or simply do a frequency tone sweep.

Bose speakers are small and while they can sound good with music, it'll definitely lack the punch in the bass

Source: my old man owns AM5 for his stereo setup
