I have the MSI R9 290. I want to use the (easy) overclocking feature on it.

My motherboard is an AS Rock Z97 Pro 4 and my GPU is an MSI R9 290. I'm running Windows 10. But it used to work in Windows 8 then stopped working in Windows 8 so i don't believe its the OS.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling it?

That fixed it for me. After the upgrade Afterburner was the only MSI tool that still worked for me. Command Center (needs MSI motherboard), Fast Boot (or something like that), Live Update and the Gaming App didn't even want to start for me.

I'd recommend getting MSI after burner and manually overclock it, look up over locking tutorials on the card and that should help you

Don't bother, useless bloatware. Better tweak your card with MSI Afterburner.

I wanted to use the reccomended settings for a reason. That's why I put this up. I already use afterburner.

If MSI gaming app isn't for My MSI Graphics card. Tell me why it has over clocked my Graphics card before and tell me why it came with my graphics card drivers. Totally not for Graohics Cards

just because it's in a disk means jackshit. Msi does that a lot, includes a lot of bloatware, but in no way or form related to GPU unless you can prove me wrong, which you wont, as its not.

So your telling me. Even though it says it's for my Graphics card and even though it has overclocked my graphics card. It's not for my Geaphics card. That's bull crap.

ikr? fascinating.

the more you know....

i wish ppl atleast googled it before making claims....

oh well..../s

before you go chimpanzee on me, yes they added the lighting effect in the later update, this was not a feature in 2014.

but as i said, the app is for motherboard. primary.

Edit : seems like they changed a lot. so take my word with a grain of salt as mine came with the motherboard z97 gaming 5, which controlled the clocks of the processor on the board not the GPU.

Edit 2 : they even removed it from the Mobo site, damn. http://www.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-utility&Win7 64

Edit 3 : since there's no away to prove that it was, i suppose you're just gonna have to believe this.

Of course it's for the GPU! My 1060 Gaming X has RGB settings that are enabled through the app. Proved you wrong...
