SSD and HDD mix ups?

Go to solution Solved by Naijin,

You can move the documents/music/videos/photos/downloads folders to the secondary drive, but for most installations you don't really have much choice. You can always go into the settings of each program and maybe change locations of some files in the preferences.

I have one 120 GB SSD as well as a 3TB hard drive in my system, I have windows installed on the ssd, as well as a couple other boot programs that activate when it is turned on, and last is one game (CSGO). I only have 25 GB's left on the SSD, is there anyway I could optimize my system to move cache files and other crap onto the HDD? Or will I be alright just keeping it how it is?

Also you can free up space by disabling hibrination mode. Also change the Paging File to be on your HDD.

Hey there Slottr,

As the guys suggested, you can redirect all your downloads, media and simple files that do not require faster access times to the HDD. Moreover, you can check which of your applications on the SSD truly benefit from its capabilities and move everything else to the HDD. Cleaning up your SSD from junk files, malware and expired updates with the Disk Cleanup function can also free up some space.
Chaning the size of your pagefile or completely moving it to the HDD can also free up a lot of space. Disabling the hibernation and hiberfil file also frees up a decent amount of space. :)
