Working with $100 (more or less)

Guest

I just got $400 from an incident involving an old NAS. I am thinking to buy some guitar/music/gaming headphones for about $100 dollars. I would prefer if they include a 1/4 inch adapter. I am looking at the HD 558's from Sennheiser. I think portability may be a slight problem for these, though (I need to be able to fold them into a thin laptop bag). I do really like these headphones. I may get the 518's and some $30-$50 earbuds. So in conclusion, I want a $100ish solution for guitar, music, and gaming. Thanks.

Maybe the Ath-m40x? They come with a pouch and folds.

That seems like a good choice... thank you.

If you are going to use the headphones for your guitar you might want it neutral, i would suggest the MDR7506. But this cans are really neutral. If the source is terrible the sound that would comes out of it would be terrible. I would suggest that get the 7506 and a Hi2050s/Superlux 668B for your gaming and casual music/movies. the 7506 are around $60+ and the 2050/668b goes for around $35+.

Edit: this cans are not "cool" looking. so if you are planning to use this cans for a mobile driver and aesthetics is a must for you, i would suggest to look for something else. this cans are more studio/indoors. but you can use em anywhere you want.
