a relatively old but very intensive game?

hello, i was recently playing need for speed most wanted black edition from 2005, so i thought since its 10 years, anything could run it. so i put the game to max settings. in game, i can hear my fans spin up extremely loudly. it was pushing my gpu to 93 C?!? witcher 3 only broke 78 C. so does anyone know whats wrong with this game or any potential bugs?

Some games just push components harder in different ways.

If your cooling cant handle it, then something is wrong with ur cooling, software (with the exception of voltage controls) cannot make hardware overheat.

was vsync enabled, or was vsync actually working? some games (*cough* sims 3) have a really hard time keeping themselves to 60 even with vsync enabled.
