Weird unknown Crosair fans

Doughnutnator
Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

They're not loud :o that's impressive, they max out at like 1300-1400RPM.

The thing is that where I live there's not BlackSilent Pros, and I can get 2 Purple LED AF120's QE for just $16 so...

Anyways, should I spend my money on something else?

It really depends. If they're not loud to you, then I see no reason to replace them. As fans go, there's not a huge difference between most, especially in just an AF environment. With radiators, it changes a bit, but for what these are doing, switching them out wouldn't really help. If anything, I'd buy some more fans and keep those ones in, or rearrange them to have them as exhaust at the top and put the new fans in the front or something.

Hi! I have these fans as intakes in my Corsair SPEC-02 case:

They came with the case, and I don't known what they are.

Does anyone knows if they're good? Or I should change them for something like AF120's quiet edition?

I have a weird homemade dust filter, and I don't feel a lot of air being pushed with these fans.

Thanks :D

They're just basic Corsair fans. Same as my 300R basically.

well, just because its an "unbranded" case fan doesnt mean its bad.

take them for a spin (bahdumtish) and see how they perform.

They look very generic, unlikely to even be one that Corsair puts their branding on really.

I'd go for NB BlackSilent Pros over Corsair's AF fans. Quieter, better performing and around the same price.

EDIT: It's not something that is essentially to replace though. They'll work, but are likely just loud.

Soooo they're crappy and deserve a change? Or I should leave them and buy ice cream with the money?

Crappy, as far as fans go. They're not worth replacing unless you have the spare money lying around with nothing else to spend it on.

You're right, thank you :)

I would like to put more fans, but sadly my mobo only has 3 fan headers, so i'm stuck with 3 case fans (2 intakes, 1 exhaust) I will leave them like that, i'm not having bad temps anyways.

Sure :) Thank you again

Lol :P How do I test them?

theres two things to a fan that matter (aside from not spontaniously combusting)

- noise

- amount of moved air.

the first will be obvious when you turn them on, the second is a matter of "feeling"

They're not "crappy". They're just the retail fans without the coloured rings and the rubber mounts, which might make them rattle a little. They're worth swapping out if you want something an order of magnitude better such as Noctua fans, but they aren't worth swapping out and replacing with something of the same tier.

They're meh at best. They work fine for my use right now, but after I throw my 480 in, I'm sure I will need some higher flow fans.
