This two were marked as Ethernet-controllers without drivers

Try this driver: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=PSG_I18103_101210

Found the motherboard, but it lists a different driver, so here you go: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Hello,

I have an old pc with a fresh install of windows xp for my grandfather. Now I only need to update it a bit through the internet, since nothing can be installed on it (probably it is sp1 or lower (if that exists)).

Now the problem is, that I need a driver for the ethernet controller. To make this all more complicate: I don't know wich computer it is exept for HP Compaq, which I guess is veeeeeery undetailed. However I took a look at this 13 year old motherboard and guessed which chip could be the one responsible for the network. This is what was written on it:

Broadcom

BCM578 KFB

CS0327 P13

702596E

I guessed that the second line was the one I had to search for, but I didn't find a driver. Instead I found lots of BCM57840 driver.

Does anyone know which driver I have to download?

Btw I think I've found the name of the motherboard: under a "HP Engineering" sticker I've found P4SD or P4SO or P4S0. I don't know exactly since the last sign is similar to a square.

have you just had a general look on the HP site? It probably has some ethernet drivers somewhere, and I also think just normal windows detection would work.

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: 280x Toxic PSU: Coolermaster V750 Motherboard: Z97X-SOC RAM: Ripjaws 1x8 1600mhz Case: Corsair 750D HDD: WD Blue 1TB

I looked at the hp site, but since I don't have a clue what model of compaq this is, the research didn't work. The device manager tells me that there is no ethernet controller driver. In order to download it automatically via windows update I have to connect to the internet, but I can only do so via lan.

Follow this guide.

Take a picture with your phone of all the unknown IDs, post here, I'll see if I can find a driver.

Make sure your data and time settings are correct. Also, most pages wont load with IE 5. Try downloading chrome off of another computer and using that instead.

I adjusted time and date manually, since it wasn't able to sync over the internet

Probably tomorrow I will download chrome from this computer and try to acces the web again

btw it wasn't able to find drivers to over the internet. It could also be that I haven't configured correctly the connection, but I will have a better look at that tomorrow
