Auto resolution set by Steam questions

yoshiii

Hello

I did know that Steam automactically sets your screen resolution based on what gpu and monitor size that you have.

I have a 1440p 27" monitor with a GTX660.  I have Skyrim and download the high texture pack for it. I noticed that in the menu in my Steam account for settings, it has my resolution set to 1080p and I cannot change it to 1440p.

Does Steam normally do this?

I've never heard of Steam doing that before. What cable are you using? If you're using DVI, the max you will get is 1080p.

I have a DP cable connected to the 1440p monitor and I have a 1080p monitor connect too with a HDMI cable.

Maybe Windows has both monitors set to 1080p. Check your resolution in the control panel. If it's set correctly, then maybe it's the mod? Sorry but I can't help you too much with that lol

Thank, but the monitor is set to 1440p.  Wonder what it is.
